The Daymaniyat Crossing

The Daymaniyat Crossing: A 16 km open water kayaking with traversing the nine islands in Oman

Beyond the Shore:

What happens when you leave the mainland behind—and there is no road, no trail, and no easy way back?

16 km of open-water kayaking. Nine islands to cross. Multiple nights camping on the islands. And 60 km of paddling before the expedition is over.

This is not a sightseeing trip.

It is a journey into the open sea, where every kilometre is earned by your own paddle.

Starting from the mainland, we cross open water to the Daymaniyat Islands, traverse all nine islands, camp along the way, and then face the open-water crossing back to the mainland.

No shortcuts. No support vehicles. Just you, your kayak, the sea, and the distance ahead.

Are you ready to go Beyond the Shore?

Expedition Overview

The Daymaniyat Crossing is a multi-day sea expedition designed for those who want to experience the Daymaniyat Islands from a different perspective: by kayak, island by island, under their own power.

The expedition begins with a 16 km open-water crossing from the mainland to the Daymaniyat Islands. From there, the journey continues across the archipelago, traversing all nine islands, with multi-day camps along the way.

But reaching the islands is only half the challenge.

After exploring and crossing the archipelago, we turn back toward the mainland, taking on another long stretch of open water by kayak. By the end of the expedition, participants will have covered approximately 60 km by kayak, combining open-water crossings, island-to-island paddling, exploration, and remote camping.

This is an expedition built around self-reliance, endurance, teamwork, and exploration. There are no roads connecting the islands and no shortcuts across the sea. Every kilometre is earned by your own paddle.

Leave the shore behind. Cross the islands. Find your way back.
